Competitive Fall Rowing - Northern Virginia Rowing Club

This Fall, the Northern Virginia Rowing Club (www.Row4NVRC.com) is providing an opportunity for experienced high school rowers (boys and girls) with at least one year of experience required (two preferred) to row in eights, fours and maybe even an octuple a few times. Register to join this program dedicated to improving skills, getting in lots of miles, and competing in some of the local head races. There also may be an opportunity for select girls and select boys boat to row in the Head of the Charles (depends on getting an entry accepted - additional costs and practices will be required for those interested). The program will run from Wednesday, September 8 through Sunday, November 7, 2010. Practices will be held four days each week: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4:30 to 6:45 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Sandy Run Regional Park. Early registrants get preference in the event the program fills up.

Registration for the program is now open online.

Bridal Show Point Opportunities on Sunday September 12

The Robinson Crew Team will hold a fundraiser in conjunction with the Washington Bridal Show at Dulles Expo Center.  Crew members and parents help vendors unload and load displays.  We work for tips and a donation from the show sponsor.  Individuals earn one point for each hour worked, and one point for bringing a dolly or cart.

The Saturday shift is full. The Sunday morning shift has 20 openings. The Sunday afternoon has 35 openings. See shift times below.

Sunday, September 12: 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. (3 points per person)
Sunday, September 12: 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (2 points per person)

Please email Randy Hauck at qualitycounts@verizon.net to volunteer and let him know your first and second choices, in case the shift requested is full. Requests are filled in the order that they are received.
