May 9 - Notice About Nationals

May 6 - Note from Coach Barrett

A few notes about practice going forward:

Daily practice will continue as usual for the boys and girls 1v and 2v, the boys 3v, and the girls freshman 8. The boys and girls 1v and 2v will prepare for the VA State Championships this Saturday, and all 6 of these boats will prepare to compete at the SRAA Regatta in New Jersey at the end of May.

For the other boats, though there are no further racing opportunities, we invite kids to come down and get in extra strokes. We are holding optional practice sessions on Tues/Wed/Thurs from 4:30-6:30 p.m., beginning this week and continuing to May 24. Success in this sport requires lots of time on the water, so we encourage you to take advantage of this time.

Congratulations to all crews that competed yesterday! We had three crews reach the awards dock, with the girls 3rd 8 finishing 3rd, the girls freshman 8 also finishing 3rd, and the boys 4th 8 winning gold! The boys 4th 8 category has only ever been won by 2 schools (TJ and Westfield), so we are happy to engrave 'Robinson Crew' on that trophy. Saturday was my birthday, and I could not have imagined a better way to spend the day. Great job to everyone.

Also note that there is no practice for the boys 3v on Monday.

Regards,
Jon
