Lake Mercer Sprints Regatta Information

For the benefit of all parents and rowers traveling to the Lake Mercer Sprints on Friday, here are some important reminders:

1.  Luggage should be dropped off at the crew shed before school.  We will have someone there assisting with this task.  PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR NAME IS ON EVERY ITEM.  Masking tape and felt markers work for this.

2.  Rowers are responsible for collecting their stored luggage and placing it on the bus no later than 8:35 AM.  If you don't put it on the bus yourself, don't expect to find it in New Jersey.

3.  All rowers will be assigned to a bus (1 or 2) by boat.  Rosters will be visible on the bus window and door.  We take role before we leave.  If you're on the wrong bus, the buses don't leave.

4.  Bring a bag lunch for Friday to eat on the bus.  Once we leave school, the bag lunch will be the only food available until we get to the restaurant around 7:30 PM.

5.  Either wear or bring your rowing clothes with you on the bus.  The bus is going straight to the water on Friday afternoon for practice.

6.  Be sure to bring a light jacket.  The temperature can swing from the 50"s to the 80"s.    WE ARE EXPECTING SOME RAIN ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.

7.  If you bring any CD player, DVD, tape player, cameras, etc... you do so at your own risk and peril.  It will not be the responsibility of the chaperones or the coordinators to keep track of the rower's personal items.  It's just not feasible.

8.  In the event of any disciplinary issues, any actions taken will be decided upon by the Head Coach and the Away Regatta Coordinator.  Their decision is final.

9.  Any parents taking their rower home after the regatta must sign a release form before leaving.  These forms will be available from the Away Regatta Coordinator.  (This is a Fairfax County School policy).

10.  No rowers will be released to anyone but their parents without prior arrangements, and documentation.  Call for details.
