UPDATE: posted 1.30.08
TAG DAY SIGN UP
Rower Sign-up
Instructions:
Each car needs 2 novice rowers
and 2 experienced rowers of the
same sex in its rower group. As
in the past, rowers will be
given the option of selecting a
partner for Tag Day.
If
you would like to partner with
another rower, there are two
ways to sign up:
When making your
request for a partner rower,
make sure no one else is
requesting the same person. The
first request will be honored
and the other person will be
paired with a partner of our
choosing. Remember, each car
needs to have two experienced
rowers and two novice rowers.
It makes it easier to arrange
cars if you sign up with a rower
of the same rowing ability
(experienced or novice) if
possible.
We will do our best to
accommodate requests. However,
once assignments are made, there
is no changing groups. Again,
please remember there needs to
be 2 novice rowers and 2
experienced rowers of the same
sex in each car, so let that
help you make your choices.

WHAT IS TAG DAY?
Click
HERE for details...
Tag Day is one of our major
fundraising events held every year.
This year, there will be two
separate Tag Days:
ALL ROWERS--MANDATORY TAG DAY:
- FEB 7TH (RAIN DATE FEB 14)
- 8:30-2PM
- BREAKFAST FOR ROWERS,
8:30AM.
- NEED DRIVERS, CASHIERS, FOOD
DONATIONS--POINTS EARNED
OPTIONAL TAG DAY:
- FEB 21ST
- 9:00-2:00
- PARTICIPATING ROWERS
EARN POINTS
- NEED DRIVERS,
CASHIERS--POINTS EARNED
DETAILS:
This year it is being held on Feb.
7th from 8:30-2pm starting from
Robinson. The current raindate is
Feb. 14. ALL rowers are required to
participate in this event. We
will be serving rowers breakfast at
8:30 at Robinson. A second Tag Day
will be held on Feb. 21st from
9-2pm. The 2nd Tag Day is not
required, but it will help us
significantly in this time of
economic slowness. The format will
change on the 2nd Tag Day, letting
you either raise funds with rowers
you were not able to be grouped with
on the first Tag Day. Stay tuned
for more on that. Rowers do not
receive points on the 1st Tag Day
for participating, but they can earn
them on a 2nd Tag day if they find
they need more points.
We need parents who can help rowers
enjoy this event and keep them
motivated to sign up as drivers.
Only parents will be allowed to
drive rowers on their routes.
Drivers receive 5 points if they
complete their ENTIRE shift. Please
only sign up if you feel you can
participate the entire time and help
this to be a positive event for the
rowers. We need drivers who can
hold 4 rowers in their cars.
If you would like to be a driver,
please email Eric Martin at
emartin@vipconsulting.com.
We are also in need of 4
cashiers who can help count
the money as it comes in. You will
need to be available from
10:30am-2pm.
If you
are interested in one of these
positions, please email Mary Martin
keah64@cox.net.
Each rower can also earn one point
for bringing in an item of food for
breakfast that day. You will
receive an email with what you
should bring about a week before the
event.
This year we are implementing a few
changes based on feedback from last
year.
1. Drivers will receive the maps
for the routes they will be covering
the Sunday before Tag Day so they
can become familiar with their
routes. Because of last minute
necessary changes, they will not
know the rowers who will be with
them until the morning of Tag Day.
2. Lunch will be served to all
rowers on a rotating schedule so we
can keep you warm and fed and give
you a nice 30 minute beak.
3. Cars are expected to be actively
fundraising from the time they leave
Robinson until they stop for lunch.
After lunch they need to continue
fundraising until we close our event
at 2pm. If a driver or rowers stop
early they will not receive credit
for having participated on the
date. It is really important
everyone plans to work from
8:30-2pm.
4. To earn more points before March
1st, you can participate in a 2nd
Tag Day to help us with other routes
we know we can raise more
fundraising. If you completed your
requirement for the 1st Tag Day, a
rower can earn points on the 2nd Tag
Day.
Last year we raised over 15k to help
with the expenses for equipment,
regattas fees, etc. Even with the
economy the way it is, lets try to
match that this year!!!
GO RAMS!
